Station Rules & Regulations
Located at 375 Centerline Road
HOURS
OF OPERATION: SATURDAYS (8am
until 4pm)
WEDNESDAYS
(May – September) 5pm until 7pm
CONSOLIDATED RESIDENT PERMIT REQUIRED:

TO OBTAIN A PERMIT, THE FOLLOWING MUST BE PROVIDED
-
PROOF OF RESIDENCE OR OWNERSHIP (driver’s license, photo ID, rent receipt,
utility/cable bill, tax bill)

COPY OF VEHICLE REGISTRATION (license plate number will be added to Consolidated
Permit when sold)

PERMIT MUST BE AFFIXED TO VEHICLE – driver’s side – rear window

$15.00 EACH permit, (2 FOR $25 if
purchased together), each additional permit $15.00
Each January a new permit
must be purchased

Permit is valid at the
transfer station and the town beach or park
HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE: ALL HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE MUST BE PLACE IN GREEN
TRASH BAGS THAT ARE PURCHASED AT THE TOWN CLERK’S OFFICE

$2.50 per bag
RECYCLING: There are designated bins
or locations for the following: GLASS: Clear, brown or green food and beverage containers ONLY; NEWSPAPERS & CARDBOARD; PLASTICS: (Codes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7) – plastic milk, juice,
and water jugs, detergent bottles, etc. - Remove lids and flatten bottles to
reduce size; METAL CANS: all
metal cans, tin, steel, aluminum, etc.; APPLIANCES & METAL – must
be striped of all non-metal accessories
THE
FOLLOWING CAN NOT BE ACCEPTED: Mattresses, Furniture, Pressure Treated Lumber, Boards
with paint or nails, Stumps, Branches, Tires, TVs, Propane Tanks, Computers, Plastic
chairs, Plastic Bags, Aerosol Cans, Paint or Oil cans, Doors w/paint, Windows, Doors
w/glass
RULES:
-
No dump trucks or
truck/trailers with dumping mechanisms
- No garbage/refuse
generated outside the Town of Providence
- No commercial dumping;
transfer station is for residents not businesses
- No dead animals,
medical/hazardous/liquid/septic or explosive waste. No propane tanks or hot ashes
ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. ALWAYS RETRIEVE YOUR PERMIT WHEN SELLING YOUR
VEHCILE. THE TRANSFER STATION CUSTODIAN
HAS THE AUTHORITY TO REVOKE A USER’S PERMIT FOR VIOLATION OF ANY RULE. REVOCATION MAY BE PERMANENT. REMEMBER, YOUR APPLICATION IS A SWORN STATEMENT
FILED WITH THE PROVIDENCE TOWN CLERK.
